OSCE Supports Regional Conference to Combat Domestic Violence in Central Asia

On 25-26 November, 2024, the OSCE Programme Office in Astana (the Office), in collaboration with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) and the “Union of Crisis Centers of Kazakhstan” organized a regional conference titled “Domestic Violence Counteraction Systems in Central Asia: Correctional Programs for Aggressors” in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The regional conference on Promoting Women's Participation in Law Enforcement in Central Asia, held on 14 and 15 September 2023 in Astana, Kazakhstan, marked a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to empower women in the region's law enforcement agencies. It brought together representatives of national authorities, including the Ministry of Interior, Police Academies, Prosecutor Offices, Policewomen Associations, and other relevant law enforcement agencies, alongside OSCE structures and field operations, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and international organizations.
OSCE supports a public discussion on gender equality

An OSCE-supported online public discussion on "Analysis of the problem of gender inequality in Kazakhstan" was conducted online on 2 December 2021. The event was organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan as a part of the international campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” in co-operation with the MediaNet International Centre for Journalism.
OSCE supports training on basic business skills for rural women in Aral Sea region of Kazakhstan

A three-day training course on basic business skills, organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan, concluded on 27 November 2021 in Aralsk city in the Kyzylorda province of Kazakhstan. Some 15 rural women from the Aral Sea region attended the event.

OSCE supports Rural Women’s Forum in Kazakhstan

The Rural Women’s Forum, organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan, took place in Nur-Sultan on 5 November 2021 in a blended format. The event was held in co-operation with the Coalition for Green Economy and G-Global Development, the National Commission for Women Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan and the Coca Cola Foundation.
