The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) is supporting the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in organising a roundtable discussion entitled "Resilience to Undue Influence in Elections from a Political and Campaign Finance Perspective", on 21 and 22 November 2023 in Tirana. The event builds upon an earlier consensus-building discussion on third-party campaigners’ spending and social media advertising during election campaigns, organised by NDI in partnership with ODIHR in March 2022.
This event will bring together key Albanian stakeholders, including representatives of political parties, the parliament, civil society organizations, the Central Election Commission, and local and international experts to discuss key recommendations for political and campaign finance reform. The event will also provide space to discuss the implementation of relevant ODIHR election observation recommendations.
ODIHR assistance to the NDI initiative is part of the Office’s Support to Electoral Reforms in the Western Balkans project, funded by the European Union and the Austrian Development Agency. The project supports institutions and civil society in their efforts to follow up on election observation recommendations.
