This three day training activity will take place in the premises of the Police Academy in Tbilisi, Georgia on 16-18 May. It will be attended by law enforcement officers from the Special Operations, Counter-Terrorism and Patrol Police. The training course will focus on upholding human rights standards while combating terrorism, and include sessions on the prohibition of torture and ill treatment, the right of life, detention conditions and the right to liberty, data protection and investigation techniques as well as the freedom of thought and expression.
The course, developed by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights in 2005 has so far been delivered more than a dozen times throughout the OSCE area.
