Effective use of algorithmic decision-making requires oversight grounded in human rights and fundamental freedoms. As part of its work to assist participating States in implementing new technologies in a human rights-centric manner, ODIHR is hosting an expert roundtable on 11 and 12 December in Warsaw, as it joins international work to establish accountability proposals for new technologies with a particular emphasis on the rights and responsibilities of actors involved at all stages of the technology life cycle.
The meeting will leverage participants’ expertise and experiences in the areas of human rights, law enforcement and new technologies to identify further opportunities and challenges for ODIHR in this area. The event highlights the important role human rights plays in the effective governance of new technologies in the OSCE region.
