The workshop aims to facilitate dialogue among media professionals on balanced and positive media narratives about minority communities, including Roma and Sinti, with a focus on increasing media stakeholders' awareness and understanding of the importance of countering hate speech, prejudice and negative stereotypes against minority communities in the media.
Participants
The workshop will gather a group of 15 experts, including editors, representative of media organizations, media self-regulatory and regulatory bodies, and journalists, especially those who cover topics related to people belonging to national minorities, including Roma and Sinti.
Expected output
Based on the outcomes of the discussion, the organizers will develop guidelines for media professionals on reporting about people belonging to national minorities, including Roma and Sinti. These will complement existing OSCE instruments to enhance balanced and positive media narratives about national minorities, including Roma and Sinti.
