On 19 October 2021, ODIHR and VBRG will host a discussion workshop featuring promising and successful civil society initiatives in a number of OSCE countries in Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans aiming to develop effective responses to the needs of hate crime victims. The discussion is designed to promote international exchange on existing good practices in this area.
During the workshop, leading experts and practitioners will present their experience, serving as role models for civil society organizations looking to expand, enhance and strengthen their support to hate crime victims. Discussions will focus on grass-roots initiatives and their efforts to engage with state authorities on hate crime prevention and improving victim support.
The event is part of the ODIHR project “Enhancing Stakeholder Awareness and Resources for Hate Crime Victim Support” (EStAR).
Participants
The event will be of particular interest to civil society representatives, human rights activists, representatives of the criminal justice sector, researchers in the field of criminal and restorative justice and specialist support providers working on hate crime victim support.
