UPDATE: The event is postponed until further notice.
This event is organized to train up to 25 civil society activists from across South-Eastern Europe on recording and reporting hate crimes against migrants. The participants will be selected on the basis of their work with migrants in the region, and their experience of addressing the problem of hate crime targeting migrants.
The event will enable participants to identify potential bias-motivated crimes, including recognizing and addressing the intersectional aspects of such crimes. Participants will learn how to submit data on hate incidents motivated by racism, xenophobia and other types of bias to ODIHR, contributing to the Office’s hate crime reporting work. They will then be encouraged to explore civil society coalition building as a mechanism to co-ordinate their efforts to record and report hate crimes.
