Regional meeting of anti-trafficking co-ordinators

The goal of the meeting is to bring together the co-ordinators from the region - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, UNMIK/Kosovo, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia - and representatives from national institutions and international organizations in order to exchange professional experiences, with a focus on identifying areas of regional co-operation based on shared challenges. The combined best practices, current challenges and potential areas for co-operation will be presented to the participants following the meeting.
Welcoming addresses will be given by the Deputy Prime Minister, Svetozar Marovic; the Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, Ambassador Paraschiva Badescu; the Head of the EC Delegation to Montenegro, Ambassador Leopold Maurer; and the Head of the Office for the Fight Against Trafficking in Human Beings, Zoran Ulama.
In addition to presentations by regional authorities on best practices in the fight against trafficking, expert presentations will be given by Ruth Pojman, the OSCE's Deputy Co-ordinator for combating human trafficking, and by John Haub, anti-trafficking expert and resident legal advisor at the US Embassy in Montenegro.
The invitees also include members of the diplomatic corps in Montenegro, and representatives of UNICEF, UNDP, IOM, EULEX/Kosovo, the OSCE Presence in Albania, and the OSCE Missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Skopje and Serbia.
