Delegations from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Albania, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bulgaria and Romania will attend the event. The Montenegrin Ombudsman and presidents of civic and parliamentary committees on police work will take part in the opening of the conference.
The goal of the conference is to bring together police chiefs and experts from internal affairs units in order to exchange professional experiences, share the problems they are facing in their daily work, exchange good practices and establish a professional network in order to enable more effective and efficient communication in the future. The main topic of discussion will be the fight against corruption within police forces: procedures, methodologies, good practices in information gathering, investigation, processing and the use of secret surveillance measures.
Ingrid Michel, Detective Superintendent from the Internal Investigation Division of Stockholm County Police, will deliver an interactive presentation on the topic of procedures, methodologies and good practices for the investigation and reporting of police corruption.
The conference will be opened by Police Director Veselin Veljovic and Ambassador Paraschiva Badescu, Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro. Media representatives are invited to report on the opening session.
