Regional OSCE conference on key factors to sustain and strengthen security sector governance and reform to take place in Sarajevo
SARAJEVO, 23 October 2017 –Key factors to sustain and strengthen security sector governance and reform (SSG/R) processes in South-Eastern Europe will be discussed at the OSCE-hosted regional conference on 27 October in Sarajevo.
Senior representatives from South-Eastern Europe government ministries and members of parliaments, SSG/R practitioners, representatives from OSCE Institutions and field operations, as well as from international and regional organizations, civil society organizations and academia, will discuss opportunities and challenges to sustain reform efforts that build trust and confidence in the region.
The conference, organized by the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre, the 2017 Austrian OSCE Chairmanship and the OSCE Mission to BiH, will serve as an opportunity for the participants to share experiences among local, national and international actors, to examine lessons learned and to identify ways to sustain and strengthen SSG/R processes at the national and regional levels.
The meeting will be opened by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Mr Sead Jusić, the Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Alexander Chuplygin as well as the Colonel Dr Michael Pesendorfer, Defence Attaché, Austrian Embassy in Sarajevo on behalf of the 2017 Austrian OSCE Chairmanship.
