The OSCE Mission in Kosovo will support the Association of Blind and Visually Impaired Persons of Kosovo in organizing a “Dinner in the Dark”.
The dinner, taking place in complete darkness, will help to raise awareness about the needs and abilities of people with visual impairments amongst central and local level institutions, the international community and the media.
It will also provide the Association with an opportunity to lobby for the adoption of the legislation that protects and promotes the rights of people with visual impairments.
The dinner is one in a series of activities conducted by the Association with the OSCE Mission’s support, aimed at combating prejudices and increasing the understanding of policymakers and society at large about the needs and abilities of people with visual impairment.
Other activities will include "Blind Parades" in five municipalities in the Prishtinë/Priština region, and one-day shadowing exercises with municipal officials.
