The Inter-ethnic Dialogue and Resource Centre (IDRC) will enable Mitrovicë/a citizens to co-operate, resolve social problems, and propose social and political alternatives.
The IDRC will connect Mitrovicë/a's different communities and isolated ethnic groups, thereby harmonizing relations between the population living on both sides of the Ibar river. The main task of the IDRC will be directed towards peace-building and reconciliation among different ethnic groups living in Mitrovicë/a.
Its main objectives are:
- Establishing a space for local NGOs and citizens that will facilitate the revitalization of multi-ethnic social and cultural life in Mitrovicë/a.
- Assistance to projects that will contribute to the stability within the region through offering a space, advisory services, and logistical support.
- Helping NGOs working on multi-ethnic projects to connect them with potential donors.
- Raising citizens' awareness with regard to different ethnic communities, minorities, handicapped persons, and environmental protection.
- Promotion of citizen participation.
- Developing a sustainable NGO network for Mitrovicë/a region and connecting it with similar ones Kosovo wide.
- Building citizens' capacities to participate in public life and impact municipal policies.
