OSCE Minorities Commissioner to meet Ukraine's leadership and national minority communities

He will focus on the issues of the educational rights of national minorities, the use of minority languages in broadcasting and in public life, and police-minority interaction.
The situation of ethnic Ukrainians in neighbouring countries will also be raised.
Following up on the longstanding engagement of his predecessors in Ukraine's Crimea, Ambassador Volleabek will travel to the region to meet the regional authorities and national minority communities. The integration of the formerly deported people into the mainstream society and their linguistic, educational and participatory rights will feature prominently on the High Commissioner's agenda.
Ambassador Vollebaek is expected to visit the HCNM's project activities, including the innovative and inter-active training in the management of inter-ethnic relations tailored to the needs of Crimea's authorities.
