Alba Brojka
Alba Brojka was appointed Special Representative on Youth and Security by the Slovak 2019 OSCE Chair.
Alba gained in-depth experience in youth participation during her university studies, her engagement in various youth NGO-s in Albania and numerous youth exchange experiences across Europe. Since the age of fifteen, she has been active in youth initiatives in her school and student organizations alike. Starting from November 2017, in her capacity of Board Member and Secretary General of the UN Association of Albania (UNAA), Alba has devoted her free time to strengthen the Association and its youth branch. In this role, Alba gained valuable experience on how to include youth in global decision-making, communicate foreign policy to young people and engage youth in the implementation of Agenda 2030.
In addition, she has contributed and volunteered in many youth- related consultations and policymaking processes in Albania. Throughout her research and work, Alba has promoted youth participation in Albania’s integration process in the European Union and has been a strong supporter of the recently initiated structured dialogue with youth. Her passion to contribute to the society in which she lives, makes her a vivid voice in promoting civic activism, gender equality and environmental awareness.
Alba holds a Master of Arts in ‘International Relations and Diplomacy of the EU’ from the College of Europe in Bruges and two undergraduate degrees in Law and Political Science from the University of Tirana and University of New York Tirana respectively. She is currently assisting the Western Balkans Programme at the European Endowment for Democracy, an independent organization fostering democracy in the European Union Neighborhood region, the Western Balkans and beyond.
