Training on the investigation and documentation of ill-treatment and torture

This two-day training session gathers 30 forensic-medical experts from the Osh, Jalalabad and Batken provinces of Kyrgyzstan, to get acquainted with OSCE commitments on the prohibition of torture and other forms of ill-treatment. The training also provides an account of international and national legislation on the prohibition of torture.
Guided by international and local experts, the participants will discuss and learn about the effective investigation and documentation of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, commonly known as the Istanbul Protocol, which is the first set of international guidelines for the documentation of torture.
