This course has been developed for officers from the State Penal Service of the Kyrgyz Republic who are directly involved in educational work with convicts in the prison system.
It will be devoted to the prevention of religious extremism and radicalization among prisoners who are serving their sentences in the Kyrgyz penitentiary system, and will be jointly implemented by the OSCE Centre's human dimension, its anti-terrorism programme, and the State Penal Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The course will be conducted by the experts from the Independent Analytical Research Centre "Religion, Rights and Politics" which has developed a special curriculum for law enforcement agencies.
In total, 154 participants in 5 colonies will be trained, including educational staff in the women's colony near Bishkek.
