Trial monitoring training for NGOs in southern Kyrgyzstan

The aim of this training event is to further support the strengthening of local capacity on the methodology for trial-monitoring, including monitoring the judicial authorization of arrests.
The training will be conducted by the ODIHR’s Rule of Law unit, an international trainer from Ukraine and a local trainer from Osh, Kyrgyzstan. As a result of the training, currently used tools will be updated and finalized to assess trials and judicial authorization of arrests in compliance with international fair trial standards. 20 participants of the training will improve their capacity as legal professionals, 11 among them will be selected and engaged as monitors in the Rule of Law project of the OSCE Centre in Bishkek in order to further continue systemic monitoring of trials in southern Kyrgyzstan.
