Second OSCE Academy Alumni Reunion

The OSCE Academy will conduct the 2nd Alumni Reunion of the Master of Arts in Politics and Security and of the Master of Arts in Economic Governance and Development on 7 September in Bishkek. Some 90 alumni from all Central Asian states and Afghanistan will attend the reunion. The discussion sessions are to cover wide range of topics related to professional development, career-building and community service.
The Alumni Reunion will provide an opportunity for active alumni of the Academy to meet new members of the network, establish personal and professional contacts and discuss further development of the alumni network.
As of September 2013 the overall number of OSCE Academy graduates reached 219. Sixty nine per cent of the graduates live and work in Central Asia and in Afghanistan. Of all alumni who responded to the annual survey, eighty three per cent are currently employed, while 8 per cent have been pursuing further academic study. Alumni build their careers in the public sector/governmental institutions (8%), international organizations (45%, including 23 people working for OSCE), education and research institutions (17%), non-profit organizations (9%) and private sector (12%). Twenty eight per cent of the alumni hold senior positions, working for the Central Asian governments, international organisations and NGOs, and eight alumni teach or assist professors at the university level. Sixteen graduates, who chose an academic path, are currently doing PhD.
By supporting promising youth in Central Asia and wider region, the OSCE Academy seeks to build capacity, through the creation of a network of young leaders and initiate an innovative the OSCE values oriented discourse.
