In consultation with a group of ten academic advisers with extensive experience in their fields of interest, the OSCE Centre will select student participants based on applications which include essays on various long-term Central Asian security challenges in each of the three OSCE dimensions: the politico-military, the economic and environmental, and the human dimension.
At the first seminar on 22-24 June, participants will get acquainted with their academic advisers and participate in group discussions dedicated to their research interests. The academic advisers will introduce their area of expertise to the group and serve as moderators for discussions. Upon conclusion of the first seminar, the students will return home and work on their research projects for a two-month period. The academic advisers will provide support and leadership during this time by supervising and advising their respective groups.
At the second seminar on 22-23 September, the students and academic advisers will present their research to the group. It is envisaged that their papers will be published and distributed among universities, international organizations and other interested parties.
