It will focus on the importance of ensuring co-operation among stakeholders on various aspects, including transparent management of mining sector revenues, and the introduction of sustainable development principles as enshrined in the UN Global Compact from a human rights, labour and environment protection perspective, along with an anti-corruption element in business operations and strategies. The participants will discuss best practices for civil society network models in this area and the establishment of a regional task force in the Karaganda district to monitor the implementation of social projects.
It is expected that the workshop will bring together more than 30 participants, including representatives from government authorities, non-governmental organizations, mining companies and international organizations.
