The training seminar “Profiling at the Border Checkpoints to Help Counter Transnational Crime” for the officers of the Border Service of the National Security Committee will provide an overview of the security situation in Central Asia with regards to the illicit trafficking of drugs. It will also equip participants with psychological techniques to help identify potential criminals during the border crossing verification process. Experts will also present ways to use different risk indicators depending on the scope of work at specific border crossing points. The training course will be conducted by psychologists of the Association of Psychologists and Behavioral Therapists of Kazakhstan and analysts of the Central Asian Regional Information Coordination Center for Combating the Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC).
The event is part of Office’s activities aimed to enhance the host country’s border security and management and to promote integrated border security management.
