The OSCE Programme Office will support a training seminar on awareness-raising of hazardous chemicals and obsolete pesticides for some 50 representatives of the local government authorities, agricultural sector, academia, environmental NGOs and other stakeholders.
The event will be organized in close co-operation with the Public Fund Kyzylorda Aarhus Centre and focus on international standards and state regulation for types of obsolete pesticides and hazardous chemicals in this area. The training seminar will also provide guidelines on how to prevent the negative effects of hazardous chemicals and obsolete pesticides on the environment.
The event is part of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana’s multi-year efforts to advance the international standards of the Aarhus Convention in Kazakhstan.
