Some 30 representatives of Kazakhstan’s state institutions will take part in a two-day roundtable discussion dedicated to the role of civil society in countering violent extremism. International civil society representatives from Denmark, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and the United Kingdom will share their experiences on the subject.
The roundtable discussion will look at how civil society works in different countries to prevent radicalization, co-operates with the state and what instruments it employs to work with at-risk groups. The experts will also share information on case studies from their countries.
The event is part of the OSCE Programme Office in Astana's activities to enhance the host country’s capacities to prevent violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism.
