The seminar “Combating trafficking in human beings”, for district judges, is the seventh event in a series of seminars aimed at building the capacity of local judges in the fight against human trafficking by offering to them an overview of international legal instruments against trafficking in persons and cases related to it.
Participants will also learn about the best practices of Turkey and Moldova in overcoming obstacles to gathering and examining evidence in human trafficking cases. They will have an opportunity to discuss questions of restitution and compensation for damages caused to victims of human trafficking and classification of crimes associated with human trafficking. The last event in a series of seminars on trafficking in human beings for judges will take place in Astana on 20 - 21 November 2013.
