This two-day training seminar will focus on two major components - gender equality and mainstreaming, with a specific focus on gender budgeting, and gender statistics and women, peace and security.
Training participants will include gender focal points in central governmental agencies as well as representatives of local executive bodies.
The seminar will provide the participants with knowledge of how gender mainstreaming works, and an opportunity to share practices of application of gender equality principles that are being implemented across the country. It will also address women’s mediation potential in resolving conflicts and the incorporation of a gender perspective into all peace and security related activities, policies and programmes as stipulated by the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security.
Leading foreign experts in promoting gender equality from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Lithuania will conduct the seminar, with active involvement of local civil society representatives and local academics.
