The OSCE Centre in Astana, in co-operation with UN Women and the National Commission for Women’s Affairs and Family Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan, is organizing a consultative meeting to discuss perspectives for implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and related issues in Kazakhstan. The meeting will bring together government officials, MPs, representatives of civil society from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, international organizations and international experts.
The OSCE Centre in Astana supports initiatives on advancing women’s role in politics and political mediation and implementation of these initiatives. One of the most important international initiatives in this area is to involve women in conflict mediation at the decision-making level, as specified in UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security.
