Ambassador György Szabó

Ambassador György Szabó is the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan. Born on 30 January 1957, in Budapest, he travelled to Russia in 1975 to study at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, where he completed his Masters-level degree.

He has held a number of diplomatic posts with the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs throughout his career, including as the Ambassador of Hungary to Nigeria and Benin. He was most recently Deputy Head of the Hungarian EU Presidency Logistics and Organization Department in 2011, and Chief of Protocol for the Hungarian President from 2005 to 2010.

Ambassador Szabó is married with two grown-up children.
