OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine

Since the beginning of his work, the Project Co-ordinator has submitted 12 project proposals to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, all of which have been approved. Projects include

• Comprehensive review of human rights legislation
• Reform of propiska system
• Technical and practical support to the ombudsman
• Assistance to the Supreme Court
• Assistance to the Constitutional Court
• Combating trafficking in human beings
• Freedom of the media
• Military reform

Facts and figures

The Co-ordinator's Office comprises the Co-ordinator, two international staff and five locally-recruited staff. The size of the Co-ordinator's expert and technical staff may change as required by the projects.

On 15 June 2005 Ambassador Schumaker was appointed OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine.
