When: 1 July 2013 - 10 September 2013

Where: Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Kyiv, Odessa, Sevastopol and Kharkiv

Organized by: Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine in co-operation with the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine and European Union Twinning project “Increased effectiveness and management capacities of administrative courts in Ukraine”

During 9 two-day trainings, over 450 judges of administrative appeal and district courts will explore recent case law of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). The sessions will be delivered by Ukrainian trainers, namely by a 'Government Agent' before the ECtHR from Ukraine, a representative from the institution responsible for in-service training, and by judges from the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine.

The events will focus on such issues as the freedom of peaceful assembly and association, the right to free elections, the enforcement of decisions of the ECtHR and ethics of judges.

The trainings will be conducted as part of a project aimed at enhancing the coherence of administrative court practice in Ukraine. The project is being implemented by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine upon request from the Higher Administrative Court of Ukraine, with support from the Norwegian Government.
