OSCE Mission to Skopje supports regional exercise on organized crime
Combating different types of organized crimes, including property crimes and illegal migration with cross-border dimension, was the focus of the OSCE-supported regional exercise that concluded on 21 October 2016 in Skopje.
The three-day exercise, organized by the OSCE Mission to Skopje and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, brought together 80 police officers and public prosecutors from Skopje, Podgorica, Tirana and Prishtinë/Priština.
“The exercise provided for verification of the operational, tactical and legal proficiencies of the law enforcement agencies in the region,” said Steven Davis, Head of the Public Safety and Community Outreach Department at the OSCE Mission. “It will ultimately assist in fostering and developing greater regional and inter-institutional co-operation.”
More than 100 officials from the region worked on applying special investigative measures in the simulation exercise that started in Podgorica and ended in Skopje, in an effort to find ways to foster inter-institutional co-operation in combating various forms of organized crime.
