Head of Mission
Ambassador Giorgio Radicati
Italian career diplomat Giorgio Radicati was appointed Head of the OSCE Mission to Skopje in December 2006. Having graduated from Law at the University of Rome in 1964, he began his diplomatic career in 1967.
From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Radicati served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the Czech Republic in Prague. From 1998 to 2003, he was Consul General of Italy in New York.
After serving at the Directorate General of Emigration and Social Affairs, he was appointed Deputy Consul to Geneva in 1970. In 1973, he became First Secretary to Rio de Janeiro and then to Brasilia, where he was appointed Counsellor for Emigration and Social Affairs in 1976.
On his return to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1978, Ambassador Radicati served at the Directorate General for Development Cooperation. In 1984, he was appointed First Counsellor to Washington, in 1989 Minister Plenipotentiary and in 1991 Minister Counsellor to Ankara.
He returned to Rome in 1993, where he served at the Directorate General for Cultural Relations and the following year at the Secretariat General.
Ambassador Radicati was born in Rome on 5 September 1941. He is married and has two children, and he is fluent in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
