OSCE Mission to Skopje supports workshops on local elections

Identifying lessons to be learned from the March local elections was the aim of four regional workshops for local election administration bodies organized from 13 to 18 June 2013 by the OSCE Mission to Skopje.

During the event, organized in co-operation with the State Election Commission, 80 presidents of the Municipal Election Commissions identified good practices and challenges in the conduct of elections, as well as areas that need further improvement.

Participants discussed the planning of election activities, meeting deadlines, communication and information sharing, voter list management, budget management, reporting and the legislative framework.

The activity is part of an OSCE-supported project to promote good governance through democratic elections by supporting election stakeholders in the country and enhancing their election administration capacities in line with international electoral standards and best practices.
