On 12 December 2012, the OSCE Mission to Serbia presented its annual Person of the Year awards at a ceremony in Belgrade. This year’s recipients were recognized for their achievements in the fight against corruption, media reform, police reform and the protection and advancement of human rights.
The Mission has a tradition of recognizing distinguished individuals in Serbia who, through their work, promote the values shared by the OSCE’s 57 participating States but who are not always well known to the general public.
This year’s recipients were Aleksandar Vujičić, Director of the Administration for the Prevention of Money Laundering at Serbia’s Finance Ministry; Zoran Sekulić, founder and director of the FONET News Agency; and Dražen Maravić, Head of the Bureau for Strategic Planning at Serbia’s Interior Ministry. Professor Vojin Dimitrijević, the founder of the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, was posthumously recognized for his life-long dedication to the promotion of human rights.
