Public debate on the situation of Roma women in Serbia

Organized by: The network of Roma women’s NGOs in partnership with the OSCE Mission to Serbia and the Parliamentary Gender Equality Committee

The aim of this event is to promote the successful implementation of policies designed to improve the position of Roma women in Serbia. It is organized in recognition of the end of the Month of Roma Women’s Activism on 8 April – the International Day of Roma.

The debate will bring together members of Parliament and will be open for the general public. It will specifically focus on priority issues such as health, education, employment, and violence against women.

The role of local authorities in promoting and protecting women’s human rights and gender equality for Roma women will also be discussed.

The most successful municipalities will receive an award for their achievements in implementing best practices to improve the situation of Roma women at local levels.
