Training for prosecutors on combating tax fraud

Some 50 Serbian public prosecutors, tax police, and criminal police officers will expand their knowledge on prevention and suppression of financial crime at a training course to take place in Belgrade on 6 October.
The event aims to help the authorities to better combat financial crime. Participants will learn the newest methods in tax fraud and financial investigation through practical exercises.
During the even the recently published Financial Crime Investigation Manual will also be launched. The manual is a guidebook for Serbian investigators on how to conduct financial investigations in line with the Serbian law and rules of procedure. It was developed by a working group of Serbian experts formed by the Mission and the U.S. Embassy.
Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Michael Uyehara and Deputy Chief of Mission U.S. Embassy Belgrade Gordon Duguid will speak at the opening of the event.
