The oldest institutional roots of the OSCE are located in the Organization's documentation repository in the Prague Office, which is an extension of the Secretariat in Vienna and has been the keeper of OSCE institutional memory since 1991. The Prague Office supports all forms of dissemination of public information, working in close co-operation with the Secretariat's Press and Public Information Section (especially its online team) and Conference Services.

The Prague Office assures the dispatch of regular mailings to more than 2,600 subscribers to the OSCE Magazine in English and Russian. Most requests for OSCE publications such as the Handbook, Annual Reports and the OSCE decision reference manual are also handled by the Office.

An additional service provided by the Prague Office is the daily update of a wide spectrum of journals and decisions as well as selected conference documents, reports or statements displayed on the web. Finally, the 66 official OSCE depository libraries located throughout the world are being procured with targeted documents in both paper and digital formats on regular basis directly from Prague.
