The OSCE maintains a dialogue with the academic and research community through targeted events, programmes and publications.

Seminars

The OSCE launched the 'OSCE Talks' series of seminars in 2010. These one-day seminars bring together leading researchers,  OSCE experts and students to discuss topical issues relevant to the OSCE's work.

The first Vienna Experts Roundtable was held in December 2010. This initiative brings leading experts from think tanks and research institutes to Vienna for an exchange of views on the OSCE and its work with OSCE officials and delegations in order to inform policy.

The V[ienna]-to-V[ilnius] Dialogues were launched in 2011 under the initiative of the Lithuanian Chairmanship of the OSCE. These informal ambassadorial discussions on Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian security are followed by events hosted by think-tanks, academic and NGO experts, co-sponsored by willing participating States on similar or closely-related topics.

Outside experts are regularly invited to other OSCE thematic conferences and events.

Publications and documents

OSCE thematic units produce a number of thematic policy brief and occasional paper series. Researchers may also be interested in the archive of decisions taken by OSCE Summits, Ministerial Councils, the Permanent Council, and the Forum for Security Co-operation.
