The OSCE Programme Office in Astana will support a five-day training seminar for some 25 prosecutors from all regions of Kazakhstan and Prosecutor General’s Office. The participants will discuss enhancing communication between the law-enforcement agencies and media, peculiarities of the law-enforcement press-services outreach and ways to promote open channels of communication based on particular cases from a journalist's perspective. The participants will learn on how to professionally report on sensitive cases and in a timely manner, prepare for public interviews and press conferences, deal with fear during public presentations and methods to handle conflict situations.
The event will include information on the use of new media tools, social networks and fact-checking as well as practical exercise on proper drafting of press releases and press briefings and interviewing with the use of video shooting. The seminar will be held in Russian and Kazakh languages.
The event is part of the OSCE Programme Office’s long-standing efforts to enhance co-operation between the law-enforcement agencies and media.
