The OSCE Programme Office in Astana will support a two-day national workshop on implementing the financial provisions of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1540, 1718 and 2231 for some 25 government officials from the Financial Monitoring Committee, the State Revenues Committee, the Foreign, Internal Affairs as well as Investment and Development ministries. The event will familiarize participants with the regional experience in the area of preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, review Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards and explore ways to improve the national legislation and mechanisms to counter proliferation financing.
The event is part of the Office’s multi-year efforts to promote good governance and combat money laundering and terrorism financing.
