The four-week practical course will provide some of the most advanced techniques and methods of training dogs and dog handlers through hands-on training on detection of explosives in light of the upcoming international exhibition EXPO-2017 that will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan from 10 June till 10 September 2017. Participants will include canine officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Guard and State Protection Agency of Kazakhstan.
The training course will also serve to enhance the capacity of Kazakhstan’s law enforcement bodies by improving their ability to counter transnational organized crime tactics and strategies, prevent terrorist and extremist activities, and use their dogs to ensure security and stability in the country.
The course is part of the Office’s multi-year activities in enhancing Kazakhstan’s abilities to counter transnational organized crime.
