The training seminar “Profiling at border checkpoints aimed at countering transnational crime” for officers of the Border Service of the National Security Committee will provide the border guards with the skills to develop the system of risk profiling, statistical instruments to analyse information on criminal incidents and ways to develop an actionable risk profile in-depth. Experts will share their expertise on in-depth psychological analysis of a suspect’s verbal and non-verbal behavior as well as contribute to elaborating a list of specific risk indicators. The training seminar will be conducted by psychologists of the Association of Psychologists of Kazakhstan and analysts of the Central Asian Regional Information Coordination Center for Combating the Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC) with the involvement of officers from the Main Division for Border Control of the Border Service of the Committee for National Security of Kazakhstan.
The event is part of Office’s activities aimed to enhance the host country’s border security and promote integrated border security management, while countering transnational threats.
