Secretary General of Co-operation Council of Turkic Speaking States addresses OSCE Permanent Council

The Secretary General of the Co-operation Council of Turkic Speaking States, Halil Akıncı, addressed the OSCE Permanent Council on 20 December 2012 in Vienna.

He spoke about the interaction between the Co-operation Council and the OSCE, stressing the need to step up joint work on a range of issues creating synergies while avoiding overlaps, and mentioned conflict resolution efforts in the OSCE region.

Co-operation Council of Turkic Speaking States is a regional intergovernmental organization set up in 2009; its members are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, all of them are participating States of the OSCE.

The Permanent Council is one of the OSCE's main regular decision-making bodies. It convenes weekly in Vienna to discuss developments in the OSCE area and to make decisions.
