Swiss, Serbian Foreign Ministers to outline priorities of 2014-2015 OSCE Chairmanships in Vienna on Tuesday

VIENNA, 27 June 2013 –Federal Councillor Didier Burkhalter, Foreign Minister of Switzerland, 2014 OSCE Chairmanship, and Ivan Mrkic, Foreign Minister of Serbia that will chair the Organization in 2015, will present broad priorities of their work in their address to OSCE participating States on Tuesday in Vienna.

A decision about the two consecutive OSCE Chairmanships was taken in February 2012 by a consensus decision of all participating States of the OSCE. Federal Councillor Burkhalter and Minister Mrkic will be OSCE Chairpersons-in-Office in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Media are invited to attend the speeches of both Ministers at the Neuer Saal of the Hofburg Congress Centre scheduled to start at 11:00 on Tuesday, 2 July.

The speeches will also be webcast at www.osce.org/live. After the speeches, Ministers will be available to reply to questions from media representatives.

The Permanent Council is a main decision-making body of the 57-country OSCE. It meets weekly in Vienna to discuss developments in the OSCE area and to make appropriate decisions.
