Through independent audits, inspections, evaluations and investigations, Internal Oversight assists the Secretary General and Heads of Institutions and Missions in achieving organizational goals and objectives in the most effective and efficient manner.

The OSCE's Office of Internal Oversight, located in Vienna, was created as an independent appraisal function to examine and evaluate OSCE activities and to prevent and detect fraud, waste and mismanagement. (OSCE/Mikhail Evstafiev)
