Following an official invitation from Moldova’s Central Election Commission, and based on the recommendation of ODIHR’s needs assessment mission conducted from 22 to 24 March, ODIHR deployed a limited election observation mission on 11 May to observe the 5 June local elections.
The mission, headed by Gerald Mitchell of the United Kingdom, consisted of 11 international staff based in Chisinau, drawn from 10 OSCE participating States. Fourteen long-term observers were deployed throughout the country on 15 May.
