WARSAW, 10 May 2013 – Representatives from governments, international organizations and academia from throughout the OSCE region will gather in Warsaw from 13 to 15 May for the OSCE Human Dimension Seminar on Media Freedom Legal Framework.
During the three-day event the participants will exchange views on key aspects of the rule of law framework for media freedom. The experts and government representatives from the OSCE participating States will share best practices and challenges in the area of media law and policy, as well as strategies for better implementation of OSCE commitments on a national level.
The meeting, which starts on Monday, is organized by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media in co-operation with the 2013 Ukrainian Chairmanship of the OSCE.
Senior representatives of the Ukrainian OSCE Chairmanship and of the OSCE institutions will open the event.
Journalists are invited to attend all sessions of the seminar, which will open at 10:00 on Monday, 13 May, in Hotel Sofitel Victoria, ul. Krolewska, Warsaw.
