Training of border officials on human rights in counter-terrorism and border security

When: 15 April 2013 - 19 April 2013

Where: Dushanbe

Organized by: The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), in co-operation with the OSCE Border Management Staff College (BMSC)

The training will demonstrate how human rights-compliant measures and practices assist in effectively countering terrorism and successfully securing borders. Twenty-five border officials from OSCE participating States and Partners for Co-operation will discuss ways to protect human rights when countering terrorism along and at the borders. The training will enable participants to deepen their understanding of the relevant international human rights standards and provide them with a human rights-based approach to their daily work.
