Counting the Cost: The January Mariupol Offensive

In the eastern outskirts of Mariupol, monitors from the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine assess the 24th January shelling of the city. This extremely heavy barrage of Grad and Uragan rockets killed at least 29 civilians and one Ukrainian soldier, and left a total of 108 people wounded.

This podcast was recorded in 2014 at a Workshop on Advancing Women’s Roles in Countering Violent Extremism and Radicalization that Lead to Terrorism, held in Vienna on 21-22 October, by the OSCE Transnational Threats Department and the Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF).

Protecting Human Rights of Persons in Detention or Imprisonment

It carries out monitoring visits to detention facilities and penitentiaries, including in remote regions of Armenia, with the support of the OSCE Office in Yerevan.
