OSCE Mission and Montenegrin Parliament host discussion on parliament's role in EU integration
BUDVA, Montenegro, 28 February 2008 - The OSCE Mission to Montenegro and the Committee for International Affairs and EU Integration of the Montenegrin parliament will host a roundtable discussion on 'Parliament in the Process of EU Integrations' on Friday in Budva.
The participants, who will include members and staff of the Committee for International Affairs and EU Integration, as well as staff of other parliamentary committees and the Government's Office for EU Integration, will learn about the experience of parliamentarians and experts from countries including Croatia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia that have faced or are facing similar challenges in their EU accession process.
Earlier this week parliamentary staff from countries in the region also participated in a course on the challenges of EU accession, organized in Budva by the Mission and the Committee for International Affairs and EU Integration of the Parliament of Montenegro. The participants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and the UN administration in Kosovo took part with experts from Croatia and the Czech Republic.
Friday's roundtable discussion will be opened by Ambassador Paraschiva Badescu, Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, Florian Raunig, Austrian Ambassador to Montenegro and Miodrag Vukovic, Chairman of the Committee for International Affairs and EU Integration.
Journalists are invited to attend the event from 10:00 to 12:15 on Friday, 29 February, at the Hotel Splendid in Budva.
