PODGORICA, 28 May 2012 – The role of the chief administrator in a municipality is the topic of an OSCE-supported roundtable discussion taking place in Podgorica tomorrow.
The topics of the discussion include legislation and the responsibilities of the chief administrator, practical implementation of legal provisions, understanding the rule of law and equality of citizens and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of local governance. The discussion is organized as part of an OSCE project aimed at improving local good governance practices.
The conclusions from the discussion will be delivered to municipalities and the Ministry of Interior for adoption and as input for the planned amendments to the Law on Local Self Governance.
The participants will be addressed by the Head of Democratization Section of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, Lloyd Tudyk, Deputy Minister of Interior Mladen Jovovic and the Secretary General of the Union of Municipalities, Rajko Golubovic.
Journalists are invited to attend the opening of the roundtable event, which is scheduled to start at 10.00 on Tuesday, 29 May 2012, at the Conference Room of the “City” Hotel, Crnogorskih serdara 5, Podgorica.
